Chives
Chives are a bulbous perennial plant forming dense clumps of cylindrical, hollow leaves. They belong to the Alliaceae family.
-
Cultivation: They thrive in rich, cool, well-drained soil. They flourish in sun or partial shade. This is a very hardy plant that faithfully regrows every year.
-
Uses: Its leaves are used fresh to season salads, omelets, and sauces. Its spring purple flowers are also edible and beautifully decorate dishes.
-
Biodiversity: Its flowers are very attractive to bees and butterflies. As an allium, it has natural repellent properties for some unwanted garden insects.
Our prices: For each of our plants, we offer 2 prices. The base price corresponds to the average price you would find in a garden center. The support price (+€1) values the work behind our plants: heritage seeds, peat-free potting soil — because elsewhere, peat bogs are destroyed to fertilize your plants —, plants sown, transplanted, and cared for by hand, and zero import-export.
Whatever your choice, it's a good choice!
