Artichoke Imperial Star

Artichoke Imperial Star

Horticultural & Gustatory Description Imperial Star is an exceptional artichoke variety, specially selected for its ability to produce flower heads from the first year of planting. It offers beautiful, bright green flower buds, which are fleshy and particularly tender. It is a vigorous plant with a majestic habit that fits perfectly in a structured vegetable garden or even in an ornamental bed. Unlike traditional varieties, it guarantees a quick harvest while remaining a perennial plant in our latitudes if well protected in winter.

PÉPI PÉPI's little note In syntropy and permaculture, artichoke is considered a prime "biomass" plant. Its leaves, once cut at the end of the season, make a mineral-rich mulch to nourish your soil. A little anecdote: the Imperial Star was developed to break dormancy more easily, making it the ideal ally for the impatient Brussels gardener eager to harvest. A tip? Give it space and plenty of treats (compost) when planting, and it will reward you with its incredible presence!

Our prices:
For each of our plants, we offer 2 prices. The base price corresponds to the average price you would find in a garden center. The support price values the work behind our plants: heirloom seeds, peat-free potting soil—because elsewhere, peatlands are destroyed to fertilize your plants—plants sown, transplanted, and nurtured by our hands, and zero import-export.

Whatever your choice, it's a good choice!
